Fuelling Success Through Better Eating Habits

Fuelling Success Through Better Eating Habits

As someone who is passionate about the importance of fuelling my body and staying well, I often reflect on my early days as a leader and how I frequently let my body run on empty with little or no nutrients. I lived off coffee and fast food.

As our lives get busier, we are often faced with multiple competing priorities, which can get in the way of our own self-care.

I have coached people who now prioritise nutrition and have achieved great results by making a few small changes, such as planning ahead and scheduling time for food preparation.

Healthy nutrition can have a positive effect on cognitive function, which leads to better decision-making. Eating well also improves energy levels and productivity, which can help you become more resilient, manage stress more effectively, and perform better in high-pressure situations.

A good starting point is to focus on consuming more fresh wholefoods, such as fruit and vegetables, wholegrains and nuts, and make a conscious effort to stay hydrated.

It is not unusual for my clients to schedule time in their diaries to prepare fresh wholefoods and snacks to ensure they will be ready for the upcoming work week.

If you often rely on convenience foods, snacks and caffeine to get through the day, I encourage you to pay attention to how you feel at the end of it. If you find yourself feeling energetically low or demotivated, consider setting aside time to plan for more healthful meals and snacks that will support your overall wellbeing.

At Evaluate Your Business, we go beyond business wellbeing and help individuals achieve more by exploring strategies that also support their individual health.
